Blue Lotus (Nymphaea caerulea ) is also known as "blue lotus of the Nile". It has been depicted in Egyptian and Mayan art and there has been a hot debate between historians as to whether this is due to this plant's claimed narcotic or aphrodisiac properties. Today it is being used for it's relaxing scent, refreshing and soothing qualities. In higher doses it might induce a mild psychotropic effect.
Blue Lotus flowers come in packages of 25g and can be prepared as tea with approximately 5g per cup or as a traditional Egyptian drink where the flowers (5g) can be soaked in wine for several hours.
